ASZ18 Great Central Ac Unit

I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast where heat indexes reach the upper 90s from June through early September.

I purchased an Amana ASZ18 central air conditioner a month ago after getting several proposals for changing out my 11 year old (~10 SEER) heat pump.

I decided on the Amana based on its competitive price, 10 year parts/labor warranty, and lifetime outdoor unit warranty. The system included a 1600cfm variable speed blower and the Comfortnet thermostat.

The central air conditioning unit is very efficient and quiet. The two stage compressor has long run cycles in the low mode. The home stays evenly cooled (even on hot and muggy days).

I'd highly recommend anyone considering a new or replacement central air conditioning units to look seriously at Amana products.
