York Central Ac Unit Report

by Noel K
(Oklahoma City, OK)

York Model EVV 89876 has been installed for about 12 -14 years. It has performed well and has had one capacitor failure, not bad.

As far as the outdoor unit, I don't know how efficient it is. I don't know the SEER and can't find data on this model of York.

I am in the process of replacing the exterior copper tubing. I have a high side R-22 leak under the house slab. I’ll be finished in a few days. Not a York problem.

I live in Oklahoma. It reaches 100+ degrees in the summer for many days. The old copper tubes must be in contact with the acidic soil or inside of the concrete slab. A recharge lasts only about a week! It failed quite quickly once the leak was evident.
