Turning off central air condition system

Is it hard on a central air conditioner if I turn it off for months at a time?

I have a home in Hawaii and the bill is really high in the summer with the AC set at 89 when no one is there.

I turned it off for 2 months and my sis just got there and said it won't come on now.

Yes, it's best to trun it off
by: Dadan

Yeah, the initial work load on the central air conditioner will be hard and it always is. I would not trust my central air conditioner to run for a month without me being at house.

It wises to turn it off if you not home for a month or two. Do you have attic fan that could remove most of the heat?

When you said it will not run. You meant there is not power to the entire central ac unit? Or the indoor blower is running and it not cooling?
