Ruud Hvac Problem From First Day

bought complete unit 1/4/06 have 10 year warranty in hand. have had 3 reversing valves replaced, defrost board, motor start capacitor , sensor in air handler, both blades broke loose at rivets on cooling fan, fixed myself, been worked on ever year since installed.

I had already talked to a lady at Ruud; she stated that a dryer filter should have been replaced after first reversing valve. That's not my fault; the whole system is contaminated and will never be right. that's not my fault.

Ruud Hvac unit froze up 3 weeks ago, called repair man, stated probably low on Freon. Installed gauges, stated you have a major problem, either reversing valve is stuck part way open, or piston in compressor is sticking. not my fault.

The lady i talked to told me the installer had no authority to write me a 10 year warranty, but he did. It is not my fault. He stated it would cost 1800.00 to fix, and here i stand with a 10 year warranty in my hand. I’m 63 year old Vietnam on a fixed income totally disabled, throwing myself on the mercy of Ruud to make this right.

Now the installer is out of business. I’m begging Ruud to make this right. Had nothing but problems from first day. Installer wrote me a 10 year warranty and Ruud refuses to honor it.

I wish that I had never heard of Rheem-Rudd air conditioning.

My neighbor has the same central ac unit and like me, nothing but problems. It seems like they could make a product that would last for at least a few years and not break down every couple of months.

I will not be buying another Rheem or Rudd product of any kind. I wonder if they are made in the USA?

If it's less than a year old it should be under a replacement warranty. As far as returning calls, if they are local, go to the place of business. Surely you had a local company install it.

Sounds to me like your problem is with the installing contractor, not the Ruud equipment. The equipment is no better than the installation.

A good service company would have responded to your calls ASAP. It is not uncommon to need some adjustments in the first year on a new machine. All components are man made, so there will be defective parts occasionally. That is the reason all parts are warranted for at least a year on new systems. Some manufacturers will have a 5 or 10 year warranty on parts.

You should contact the RUUD company directly, just Google Ruud and you will find their Web Site look for the “Contact Us” link.

the company that sold me on RUUD air conditioner for my new home is full of crap. This is my 1st year and they don't return my phone calls.

My house is 92 degrees and we are in Arizona......NEVER, EVER BUY A RUDD...,.,.I OWNED A TRANE FOR 22 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH 2 UNITS.....NOW I CAN'T MAKE IT EVEN A YEAR WITH A RUUD.
BUT A TRANE.

DO NOT GET A RUUD CENTRAL AC

Bought a new home with a RUUD central ac unit and have had issues since day one. The house came with a two year home warranty and the ac man has been to my house 5 times in 4 months.

You are talking about frustrating. Taking off work to meet him at my house to service this
central air units. I'm at my wits end. The ac unit just runs ALL DAY LONG. I and my wife have watched this thing run 20 hours none stop.

This central air conditioner is crap and all I'm getting is it's loosing freon. Even when the ac guy comes to the house, the
ac freon level has been correct twice but can't explain the reason for it running all day.

Changed the thermostat and still same issue. I'm just about ready to get my own ac guy and just send the bill to the seller. RUUD is CRAP!!!!!!!!!

Dont Buy Ruud Heating and Cooling Unit!!!

I agree I've had my new central heating and ac unit 1 yr before it stopped working. They replaced the compressor; it didn't fix the problem. They replaced the mother board; it didn't fix the problem.

They replaced the whole outside unit and it worked for 2 months now. It has a leak in the coil so its not working again already had to pay for labor to replace the outside unit.

Now I?m suppose to pay again to replace the coil in the 15 months we?ve had the new unit ive already spent more money to fix the new ac then i ever spent on our old unit which was already old when we bought the house 12 years ago I?m in Florida IN THE SUMMER WITHOUT AC and I think I?m on the verge of a heatstroke!!!! worst mistake i ever made getting this Ruud unit the old one worked much better and cost less in repairs.

I really wish i had a do over!!!!oh yeah had to tell them my family would seek a wrongful death suit when i fell over from heatstroke (they didn?t know when they could get my new coil because they were on backorder) now they are going to remove one from a new unit and get it to me and im still responsible for paying the labor for replacing it.

Yes they are good on warranty but why shoud customer have to pay for faulty equipment Ruud should pick up bill for installation if it is in warranty period,They could sign on a/c dealer on a special amount that they pay to have it replaced,What is so hard about that STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT RUUD?

Never BUY RUUD Central Ac Unit

There junk haven't had mine a year and have had to have a capacitor replaced and now not even a year later A coil has a leak and needs replaced oh under warranty but labor is 550 to replace it DON"T BUY RUDD AC UNITS THERE"RE GARBAGE You'll be sorry if you buy one YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED?

Ruud Hvac Problem

I asked for a letter, stating the 10 year warranty wasn't going to be honored by Ruud, and I have one written by Ruud installer. The lawyer and county judge wants to see why, and how, I’m holding a 10 year warranty and Ruud rejected the warranty.

The judge wants proof that there was no promotional credit at time of installation. I’ve already went through main office with e-mail requesting the proof. No answer, e-mail or letter. Letter is what i request. Then the old judge says he will get to the bottom of this warranty scam.
