I had Trane heat pump in my house for 33 years without major problems with it yet. Trane central air conditioner is top brand in my opinion. The main thing is to do proper maintenance. You should clean the outside and inside coils once a year. Changing the filters every 30 days is healthy for the central air conditioner units.
