How to read and decode Ducane serial numbers:

There are 10 digits to Ducane serial numbers and there are two types of serial number.

First type:

2246780515 (Made up serial number)

You will determine the month and the years from the last four digits of the serial number.

05 is the year HVACs unit was made

22467805|15|

15 is the week HVACs unit was made. (15 weeks is in April)

This HVACs unit was made in April, 2005.

Second Types:

46 09E48972 (actual serial number)

To decode this serial number, you will only the first fifty serial numbers, including the letter E. (underline above)

46 is the plant location

09 is the year the HVACs unit made

E is the month the HVACs unit made

This HVACs unit was made in May, 2009

A = January
B = February
C = March
D = April
E = May
F = June
G = July
H = August
Letter “I” was skipped.
J = September
K = October
L = November
M = December
