Within 18 months of purchasing my central ac unit and having it installed in my home i have had to have it repaired twice and even though it's under a 10 year warranty the warranty did not pay for these repairs. I am very dissatisfied and would not recommend a Goodman unit to anyone.

I had a Goodman central ac unit on my house for 13 years. When it went out, I replaced with another Goodman unit. In slightly less than two years, that unit failed.

I had my AC system replaced 6 years ago with a Goodman. Most of my research lead me to believe it would be a good unit. Had the inside replaced first the one the builder put in the home was starting to rust really badly.

Two years later I replaced the outside unit. It was installed by a Goodman recommend Service Tech.it had a loud rough sounding start from jump....had the service tech put a kit on it ...then it was leaking freon service tech could not find it...Goodman sent out a whole new piece...paid $500. to the service tech for labor....after the $300. for the pass service calls and the freon.

Now the system on the outside is not blowing cold ...called a different service tech...who claims to be a Goodman Tech...$$140 for a hard start kit for the compressor...$189 for cap for a starter kit...$85 for labor and $65 for it being a Sunday...and the AC still is not working...now the tech is back out ...had to use a sick day from work ...and the tech said the part is covered by Goodman...but the labor will be around $500. I live in South Florida.

What was the nature of the repairs, was it a defect in the Goodman unit, or possibly something wrong with the installation?
Goodman will warranty the parts, but may not cover labor. Check the details of your warranty. Check with your local service company to learn why you were charged and exactly what the problem was. If it was actually a malfunction in the equipment you should contact Goodman Companies customer service department. If it was a problem caused by faulty installation your dealer should make it right.
