Do Not Buy Trane Hvac

by Ed P
(Weston, fl)

Send to Trane: purchased a Trane in 2007 from AllYear Cooling In plantation , in less then four years I have to replace not only the main evaporator coil but also the outside units due to leaks.

Cost for replacements are 475.00 for inside unit and 495.00 for outside. It's seems to me that this is a defect in the Trane Hvac unit not your normal wear and tear .

I think it would only fair if you stand by the product you sell and help with some kind of discount. We purchased the Trane due it's high standards to say the least I am very disappointed.

Response: sorry you are on your own.

Trane HVAC not cooling
by: Jerry R

Purchased a 15seer 4 ton Trane, model XR15, April 27, 2010. Have had more than 8 service calls, with no appreciable results. This summer in Schertz, TX temps reached 100 +s degrees.

Set temp to 78 degrees in home. Central ac would come on around noon and would not shut off until after 8:pm. Just to maintain a 78 degree temp.

Replaced a carrier 12 seer 4 ton because of age and available rebates. The carrier could easily cool the home to 72 degrees. Never have been able to get the Trane unit below 76 degrees. Trane rep said that the central ac unit was working as designed. POOR ANSWER.

Incomplete review
by: Anonymous

IMHO, there is a lot missing information to really put too much faith in this review. Why did these problems happen, was it really the product or the installation. Going cheap will cost you. A bad contractor (which there are more of than good contractors) can wreck the best products. It's unfair to blame the manufacturer if the contractor is to blame.

bad installation
by: Anonymous

sounds like the technician did not evacuate the system causing acid formation in the system which would eat out both coils and damage the compressor
