Constant Clicking Noise

My home central air conditioning unit makes a constant, non-stop clicking noise (usually when the desired temperature is reached). What is causing this?

i have the same problem mines jus ticks it break for about 3mins then back to it...but the whole time its on ticking/tapping noise work my ears
