Central air conditioner had burning smell

by Proctor
(FL)

My central air conditioner had been running fine until yesterday. It produces this burning smell from the air.

I didn't turn my heating unit on or anything. The central ac units have gas furnace. Could it burn without turning the heating on? What is wrong with it and why does the air conditioner unit had this smell?

Central Ac smell

You probably have damage indoor blowers. If your indoor blower does not dies within day or week, you probably have external smell leaking into the air handler or the ducts system.

By the way, make sure no children or other people burning candle in the other room.

This is just an educational guess with the information you provide. So, take it as my opinion.
