Carrier System Installed 5 Yrs

We had a carrier system installed 5 years ago. Wouldn't you know it, that 2 weeks after the warranty expired, no cold air! Blue Dot installed the Hvac unit and would not honor the warranty.

After Blue Dot came to look at the central ac unit (they sent some kid out) he left it torn apart so I would have to pay them to put it back together. A new reverse valve had to be installed by another company in Nov. 2010.

I don't know if it was done properly (didn't need Ac unit in November) but Company installing said it worked fine. I just went through 3 days of 98-99-97 degree heat here in Maryland. Now its not putting out cold air again.

Funny , I have had a landscape business for twenty-three years. In that time, I might have gone back 5-6 times to please my customer’s wishes if something failed.
Usually went back within 24 hours at most.

Amazing how I have to wait 2-3-4 days sometimes a week to get someone out here. Its a crime to put up with a bad hvac unit and bad service. Not only will I never by another Carrier product but I will also tell people I know not to buy them either. Being a Vol. Fireman, I know a lot of people. Remember, good word spreads fast, BAD WORD SPREADS EVEN FASTER.

Carrier Ac Unit Will Not Shut Down
by: Anonymous

My central ac unit was less than a year old when I had to have the circuit board replaced. What had happened was a power outage, so when the electrician came back on, so did the ac unit.

The unit did not shut down, it just kept running and cooling until the circuit board went bad.I was under warranty the first time but I had to pay for the labor. The next time it happened I had to pay for the circuit board and the labor.

(ouch)So I have an ac unit that I have to keep an eye on at all times. The only way to stop this is to cut the breaker off to the blower unit if I am not going to be at home.

When I had the work done they told me that out of all the units that they had installed, my unit and one other persons unit were the only two that had this problem.

So when the power goes out and then comes back on, my unit starts running and does not shut off until I go to the temp control panel and keep trying to get it to cut off--it does not respond well here also. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CARRIER CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONER!!!!!!!!!
