Bryant Ac Unit Leak Cost 800 Dollar

by Dave
(Toronto)

Under a 5 year warranty my 3.5 ton 14 SEER Bryant AC unit stopped working and leaked all of the Coolant. The $100 valve is now going to cost me over $800 which BRYANT refuses to cover. NEVER BUY BRYANT.

Bryant Leak Issues NEW
by: Anonymous

No surprise here. I've run across six newer Bryant units this year alone (all installed within the past year) that were completely out of refrigerant due to a leak inside the condensing unit on the manifold joint. This is NOT a field installed defect, this IS a factory brazed joint.
Bryant, which is a Carrier product, had this same problem 2-3 years ago, except it was inside the indoor evaporator coil and not the condensing unit.
For being a self-proclaimed "superior" product, I've found Bryant/Carrier to be nothing more than an over-priced, over-hyped product. They've had a history of refrigerant leak problems and it appears they have done nothing to address it.

sorry
by: Best In The West A/C

Sorry you feel upset, but a warranty part is something you can hold in your hand to turn in for a warranty replacement. Freon is a gas when it leaks out and there for is not a part to turn in for warranty. I have been a FAD dealer for Bryant which is a Carrier produced product in the USA not overseas.
May be the problem is the service company and not the product.

I would think that such as part would be covered under a normal contract. If not It should have been notied in the contract that was presented to you..
