We bought a Carrier 6 years ago - worst and costly mistake! Many leaks, replaced the coil and now the compressor is out after it caught on fire! Now only after 6 years and many costly repairs we are throwing it out and starting over.

We tried talking to Carrier Corp Senior Rep and the district mag. but they are about the money and not about the customer. They refuse to do what is right and noble. They sold us a "lemon" and they don't care!

The AC Unit came with the home we bought 13 years ago. It has needed maintenance that could be considered normal. In 2009, the outside unit stopped working and the fan and other parts had to be replaced.

Now, the inside unit comes on for a few hours, then shuts off. When my husband looks inside the ac unit, he sees frost around the bottom-middle.

The central ac unit is basically freezing up and it doesn't take long for it to do so, a couple of hours.

It is a Carrier, Model no. FA4ANF030, Serial No. 1898A28130

Central air conditioner unit was installed in new home. The capacitor went bad before the ac unit was 2 years old. Why is Carrier such a piece of junk. I guess they use everything cheap. The part was still in warranty. The service call $90. the labor $50.

The problem with Carrier hvac units is poor quality. Lots of my neighbors are having problems on these units from one to two years old.
