18 Month Central Ac Unit With Leaking Coil

by Paul P
(OCALA, FL.)

Can anyone help me on how to deal with Goodman? My evaporator coil is leaking and the installer tell me that Goodman will replace coil, but I will have to pay 400 to 500 dollar to have a new evaporator coils installed.

Can believe a company will not stand behind their product. The installer said he has had this problem with other Goodman coils, any advice as to how to handle this??

Have had central air unit for a year and have had two leaks and it will not cool house on days that the temperature is over 85. Have had service people out 4 times because of dissatisfaction.

Electric bills are very high. It runs constantly and is very noisy. Old unit was over 17 years old and worked well. Would not recommended a Goodman AC.

I'm ripped off too!

Same problem here with leaking coil. I don't know who's telling the truth, the installer or the Goodman Company. I'm furious over having to pay to install another coil on a unit used less than 2 seasons. Boo to Goodman and boo to Peters Heating and Cooling in Columbus IN.

1 Yrs Unit Not Cooling
by: Anonymous

You need to call you contractor right now. Your central ac unit is only 1 year and it won't cool below 79 degrees.

Goodman Hvac unit has improve over the years. this is just wrong.

ac won't cool below 79 degrees

installed the central ac unit last year. bill went from $270 per month to $420 but noticed it not cooling as well. repairman came out and added freon and installed a new thermostat.

Now won't go below 80 degrees. seems worse when its humid out. Had previous unit for 11 years n never added freon once so wondering if this is indication of a leak. What were some signs of a leak that others have had?

Same problem, bad coil leak.
by: Randy

I am going through the same problem at this time,
going to raise the dickens with the company about the coolant, has leaked some from the start, it sure isn't a labor charge and if the part wasn't faulty it wouldn't have leaked, is a rip off.
