hvac not comming on when turned on by control panel

February 20, 2011

I noticed the ac wires were chewed through and bare wires touching each other. the control panels both work but when commanded on to blow air out, i get no heat and of course no Ac. is there a breaker? maybe a circuit board. the central ac unit is in the attic, and the home was built in 06

Bare Wires
by: Chester

The bare wires are most likely the root cause of your problem. There is a circuit board on the air handler that is part of the furnace. Chances are the shorted wires have either blown a fuse, blown a transformer or shorted out the circuit board.

Contact a local Air-conditioning contractor to have a qualified HVAC technician diagnose the problem. There are no consumer serviceable components in the furnace or condensing unit.
